Bio

I've been interested in science education and the public communication of science for 25 years. Have had my own computer (first was a Vic-20) for 30 years. Formal education in biology and the history and sociology of science. For the last 15 years, I have mixed my passions for telling stories about the natural world and digital technology, working mostly in online new media. Highlights include being the founding nature and science editor of Discovery.com, being associate producer of the strangely popular video game WolfQuest, preliminary judge for the Wildlife Film Festival, and helping develop production tools and features for SimBio's SimUText biology teaching materials.

I've worked with web technologies, 3D, video, audio, and print. I'm not a real programmer, but I play one on TV.
