- My primary interest is in assisting individuals and their organizations to identify and attain their next level of potential, and subsequently, personal and organizational fulfillment. I am drawn to spontaneous moments of creative problem-solving, and I strive to contribute original thoughts to advance the conversation at hand. I enjoy dogs, writing, baseball, philosophy, nature, hiking and biking, and my wife and children (I probably should have listed them first!) When it comes down to it, I like to live life in the moment, and nothing fulfills me more than playing a role in assisting people to define and pursue their visions.
I was going to be an English teacher once upon a time. That was in 1991 when I graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. I completed a Master’s in Creative Writing at Iowa State University in Ames in 1993. It’s about then that I discovered the field of consulting, which I like to think of the perfect blend of expression and strategic thinking towards assisting organizations to make great decisions and attain their vision. I attained my MBA in 1995, also from Iowa State, and began my consulting career with Deloitte Consulting in 1995—they promptly placed me on a large scale systems integration project managing COBOL II programmers in Indiana. I know… how archaic is that? I helped design the firm’s Change Leadership methodology, and then I moved on to join Renaissance Government Solutions, a mid-tier consulting firm, and managed their Indianapolis office. By 2001, I realized that I needed an opportunity to connect more personably with clients and so I went off on my own and have been consulting independently across a wide range of project types, from emergency management planning to non-profit capacity building, and everything in-between. I am an entrepreneur with an artistic core, so I see every project as a rare opportunity to energize an organization to seek, understand, pursue, and realize its potential. Sound ethereal, or nebulous? Please get in touch and I'll explain how I operate in a way that empowers you and your organization. I currently live in Hastings, Nebraska with my wife and four children, and we are attempting to relocate to Montana after I develop a clientele to support my consulting in this region.
